The FM10D-7-TC is a 7-ton electric log splitter capable of splitting softwood and hardwood logs of up to 450mm in length and is suitable for domestic use. It is fitted with our DuocutTM blade, which enables it to split logs from both ends and split logs as effectively as a 10-ton machine. It ensures that by splitting from both ends. If a knot is encountered at one end, it will still split from the other.

The FM10D-7-TC has a simultaneous button and lever operation, so it cannot be operated one-handed, making it compliant with the latest safety regulations.

The FM10D-TC comes fitted with the Ram Stop that can limit the amount of return travel by the blade. If you are splitting a lot of short logs, then you can set the return distance to slightly greater than your log length, and this will save considerable time.

This FM10D-TC model can produce up to 7 tons in total force. It can also manage around 100 logs per hour. It comes filled with hydraulic oil, ready for use out of the box.

The newest model of the FM10D-7-TC log splitter is fitted with a workbench and guard that are compliant with safety regulations. Unlike safety cages supplied by other manufacturers, our guard has no holes in the side panels to ensure logs can’t get caught and damage the guard. Our guard also allows you to split logs up to 400mm* diameter, whereas other manufacturers can only split up to 250mm diameter.

This model does not include a stand.

7-Ton FM10D models are available bundled with a stand; the FM10T-7-TC model includes a stand with two wheels and flat foot support at the front. This splitter is also available with a trolley stand, and the FM10TW-7-TC includes a trolley stand that features wheels on all four corners of the stand for easy manoeuvrability.

Q & A

Does this unit have a bleed screw you have to open to use and close when you store it Stan asked on February 19, 2024

Absolutely, you've got it spot on! Before you kick off with using the log splitter, make sure to open the bleed screw. It's a crucial step to ensure everything runs smoothly. And yes, we highly recommend tightening the bleed screw back up when you're moving the unit or tucking it away for storage. This little habit goes a long way in maintaining the splitter's efficiency and preventing any unwanted leaks.

Hi we have one of your FM10-7 splitters and have a problem with it at the moment,it has been working fine and weโ€™re very pleased with it but itโ€™s started pushing into the log and stopping as soon as it feels the psi on the log then not carrying on and splitting it, please advise if poss low on oil let me know what oil we need to put in it. Kind Regards Tracy Hilton David Hilton asked on September 3, 2022

Hi, Sorry to hear about this. Could you please work through these points listed below?

1. Please check that the plastic knob on the end of the lever is fully tightened. If this becomes unscrewed it can prevent the lever from being fully engaged. This leads to the
carriage moving slowly or not at all. Follow the link below for a demonstration of this.

https://forest-master.com/faqs/log-splitter-carriage-issue/

2. Please ensure that the log splitter is absolutely level, or even better, pointing uphill. The log splitter's front (fixed blade end) should not be pointing downhill. Just to double check I would advise raising the front of the log splitter on a block of wood (or similar) to ensure this.

3. Finally, similar to the previous point - if you've used the log splitter regularly and have sensed a drop in performance. Raise the front of the log splitter on a block of wood and try again to split logs. If you experience an increase in splitting performance then it's likely that the log splitter is low on oil and requires topping up.

If none of these steps works for you, please just quickly check the sides of the log splitter using a straight edge just to make sure the tank hasn't bowed.
