Powerful 2-Speed Electric Log Splitter (8-Ton) with Work Bench & Guard
The 2016 updated FM16D log splitter can produce up to a massive 8 tons in splitting force. It has a two-speed ram for soft or hardwood. When splitting softwood, pushing the operating lever halfway gives you the fastest speed with reduced force. When splitting hardwood, pushing the operating lever all the way down gives you the full 8 tons of force at a slower speed. The FM16 log splitter is heavy-duty in every way. The heavy-duty nature of the log splitter allows it to complete tasks which other competitor brands of log splitters can not. An example of this is that with competitor log splitters, the ram must stop 150mm short of the blade as it does not have the heavy-duty capability to split to the end. The FM16 make it easy to split logs the entire way and removes the physical aspect of having to rip logs apart at the end of the splitting process.
The FM16D is fitted with our trademarked DuocutTM blade that increases the efficiency of splitting and makes the log splitter much better at handling knotty wood than single-blade splitters. It also comes with a Ram-stop for reducing cycle time with short logs.
The heavy-duty FM16D was designed for long-lasting use and can handle logs up to 450mm in length and 400mm in diameter.
It comes filled with hydraulic oil ready for use.
The newest edition FM16TW log splitter comes with a workbench and guard to comply with all new safety regulations. Unlike the safety cages fitted by other manufacturers, our guard has sides with no openings so that split logs cannot catch in an opening and cause damage. Our guard will also accommodate logs up to 400mm* diameter whereas other manufacturers can only handle 250mm diameter.

Great piece of kit put to good use this weekend already! So far so good.
Took a little figuring out to set up , had to ask ‘the boys’ for help so left them to complete. Please note I am a woman,a pensioner and a virgo!! Insructions not too clear at first ,where to check hydraulic fliud level and some other controls. Most of the screws were alltogether would help if seperated and labelled to corresponding parts.eg small stickers .
Very short electrical lead.
So far have only used soft wood for splitting, which the machine did easily. I have rounds of oak ,cherry and ash to do when weather inproves.
Guard fitted then noticed a plastic handle in the box ,doesnt seem to fit with guard on. Guard prevented most wood from flying out.
I feel that using both hands(as a safety measure) to operate , the positioning makes you lean too close to machine . I felt more distanced when using an axe.I paid ‘the boys’ to split the logs and will do so until i am confident to do it my self . Let me know if you design a remote control lead!
‘The boys’ found it labour saving to use and spliced a large pile of logs in a short amount of time.
Need to re review in autumn to find out how it copes with different wood types and terrain.
Easy to put together and solid so far
Dual speed and Duocut make this a great machine. Quite low if you donโt buy the stand. Seems to split just about anything. Glad I bought the 8t version.
