The FM5TW log splitter is a fast, compact, lightweight 5-ton log splitter and the ideal product for beginners or when using small to medium wood burners. It is best suited to splitting soft or green wood, if you are splitting hard or knotty wood, you should consider the FM10 series of DuocutTM log splitters.
The FM5TW has a quick cycle time of 9 seconds making it the fastest small log splitter. It can split logs up to 300mm / 12 inches in length.
The FM5TW has a 2200W motor and produces a genuine 5-ton of force, unlike other small wood splitters which only have a 1500-watt motor and produce 4 tons of force. It is supplied with hydraulic oil ready for use.
With its compact size and trolley with locking castors, it is easy to move around and store. To comply with the latest safety regulations it has button and lever operation.
The log splitter comes with a workbench and guard to comply with all new safety regulations. Unlike the safety cages fitted by other manufacturers, our guard has sides with no openings, so that split logs cannot catch in an opening and cause damage. Our guard also accommodates logs up to 300mm* in diameter, whereas other manufacturers’ cages only allow up to 250mm.
The FM5TW lightweight wood splitter comes with our trolley, which uses the rear wheels from the log splitter and has locking casters on the front, making it easy to move around a workshop, patio, etc.
The FM5TW can also be fitted with our DuocutTM blade (sold separately), fitting the Duocut blade will reduce the max log length to 230mm.

IAM GOING TO BUY MYSELF A USEFUL PRESENT THIS YEAR.” I SHOULD HAVE DONE IT FOR MY 30th BIRTHDAY! WHAT A GREAT MACHINE! THE SMALLEST IN THE RANGE BUT ALL I WILL EVER NEED. THE SPLITTER LITERALLY SPLIT LOGS OUT OF THE BOX….NO ASSEMBLY NECESSARY! EVEN FULL OF OIL! JUST HAD TO FIT THE TROLLY/STAND. THAT LOOKED A BIT UNSTABLE, BUT HOW WRONG COULD I BE? STEADY AS A ROCK, ON SOLID GROUND OF COURSE. I WON”T BE GOING OFF ROADING WITH IT! I HAVE NOT FITTED THE SUPPLIED GUARD AS YET. Splitter works really well. Just the job!
Excellent heavy duty product, which was delivered promptly, it is so easy to use. It is a pity that, as this is a shorter model, the base bar on the generic trolley is left sticking out which is a serious trip hazard. Will need to cut it short with an angle grinder.
Only used it in a test. Not a lot of experience with it to give a good review but happy with it so far.
