The FM16TW-TC Electric Log Splitter can produce up to a massive 8 tons in splitting force. It has a two-speed ram for soft or hardwood. If you are splitting softwood then pushing the operating lever halfway, gives you the fastest speed with reduced force. When splitting hardwood, pushing the operating lever all the way down gives you the full 8 tons of force at a slower speed. The FM16 log splitter is heavy-duty in every way. The heavy-duty nature of the log splitter allows it to complete tasks which other competitor brands of log splitters can not. An example of this is that with competitor log splitters, the ram must stop 150mm short of the blade as it does not have the heavy-duty capability to split to the end. The FM16 make it easy to split logs the entire way and removes the physical aspect of having to rip logs apart at the end of the splitting process.
The FM16TW-TC is also equipped with our trademarked DuoCutTM blade that increases the efficiency of splitting and makes the log splitter much better at handling knotty wood than single-blade splitters.
The brand new edition of the FM16TW-TC log splitter comes with a workbench and guard to comply with all new safety regulations. Unlike other manufacturers’ safety cages, our guard has solid sides with no openings so that split logs cannot catch in an opening and cause damage. It also accommodates larger logs than other manufacturers, our guard accommodates up to 400mm* diameter whereas other safety cages only allow 250mm diameter.
The FM16TW-TC also comes with an adjustable height trolley stand for ease of moving around workshops and patios. The trolley stand gives three alternative bed heights of 370mm, 470mm and 820mm. Ram-stop for reducing cycle time with short logs. The FM16TW comes filled with hydraulic oil ready for use.
The heavy-duty FM16TW-TC was designed for long-lasting use and is currently the largest available electric log splitter by Forest Master.

Very good product, splits large logs with ease.
For the actual equipment I would give it a 5*, unfortunately it is let down by an awful instruction manual, namely the guard instructions. Which tell you to use the wrong screws right at the start of the process, which only becomes apparent when you get to the last section. Meaning you have to take it all apart and start again.
This machine is brilliant in every respect. I wish it had been available when I started splitting logs 40 years ago, I makes all the others I have used look like toys. Today it has been used to split a couple of tons of knotted hardwood almost with disdain for the knots. What is more it is manufactured in Newcastle and certainly represents the best of Britain!
