9HP Petrol Garden Shredder with Electric Start
The Forest Master FM9DDES garden shredder is an exceptional choice for anyone looking for a powerful and reliable machine to handle all of their garden waste. With its LCT Maxx 9HP 306cc 4-stroke petrol engine, it can easily shred wood up to 3 inches in diameter, making it perfect for large-scale projects.
One of the most unique features of this professional series shredder is its ability to rotate and adjust the chipper drum. This allows a unique ability to rotate and adjust the chipper drum. This allows you to easily control the amount of material being processed at once, preventing the engine from stalling. The versatility of the drum rotation also offers different options for the type of materials you are shredding:
-The flat angle hopper position offers easier loading and a higher discharge chute, making it suitable for larger pieces of wood.
-The regular angle position is ideal for shredding a variety of materials, including fresh soft and hardwood.
-The vertical hopper position is best for processing materials such as brash, cuttings, small branches, and free-fall leaves. This position allows for better control over the flow of materials, making it easier to handle smaller and more delicate pieces.
This added feature of the Forest Master FM9DDES garden shredder increases its efficiency and makes it a versatile tool for tackling all types of garden waste.
The feed hopper and exit chute are designed with a hinged design, allowing easy access to the chipper drum. The twin reversible blades are also a great addition, eliminating the need for constant sharpening. Maintenance is simple, with only the oil level and cutting blades needing regular attention.
The Forest Master FM9DDES garden shredder stands out from the competition with its unique hopper design. Unlike other machines that utilize a wedge-shaped hopper, the FM9DDES features a hopper that stays close to a 1:1 ratio. This means that branches you feed into the hopper will not hit a choke point as they reach the drum, reducing the risk of blockages and increasing the branch diameter capacity.
With the FM9DD you can be confident that the branches you feed into the hopper will be processed efficiently and effectively, without the need for constant clearing of blockages. This feature makes the FM9DDES a more reliable and efficient option for tackling large-scale garden waste projects.
In summary, the Forest Master FM9DDES is perfect for shredding large volumes of garden waste on a regular basis. Its powerful engine, versatile design, and ease of maintenance make it the ideal choice for anyone looking to tackle big garden and landscaping tasks with ease.
If you need a smaller model, be sure to check out the FM6DD-MUL petrol compact wood chipper. This shredder has all the same features as the FM9DD but in a more compact design.
Please note that this item is not pre-filled and requires 1.1L (1100ml) of standard engine oil. We recommend 10W-40 engine oil.

Early days. Seems generally capable and not prone to getting clogged up. It did stall out on a 2.5in fresh cut softwood branch immediately, which is disappointing as that’s smaller than the specified max of 3in., but paying attention to engine revs and moderating feeding speed does help it get through them. Just takes a bit of slower more careful feeding.
Slightly concerned that there were no instructions re the battery connection, and nothing to warn that it is charged and capable of delivering a nasty jolt of you don’t connect it carefully. Also disappointed to see that despite the general substantial robust metal construction, just a few elements are inexplicably plastic and will almost certainly end up breaking. Of particular note is the choke. It’s going to get knocked by some other tool and will break, at some point in the not too distant future.
Its easy to flag the less than ideal elements, so for balance I should add, assembly was good and easy, overall build quality seems very good given the exception noted above, initial performance is great until you get over 2in and then just need to feed more carefully. No regrets at the end of week one.
Quality equipment, does what it says on the tin.. and beyond.. Should have invested in this bit of kit sooner..
straight forward machine that just gets on and does the job
I’d give it 5/5 but for one really easy to fix and crying-out item….pneumatic wheels or lack of – at c100kgs the unit needs wheels that take in small bumps far better – even if a option for these as replacement existed…as the slightest ridge and it is real haul to move an excellent bit of kit.
