Chipper Discharge Chute for Compact Mulcher Series โ Convert your mulcher into a wood chipper
The standalone compact mulcher series is absolutely perfect for mulching and shredding all of your garden waste down to material that is less than 10mm. However, due to the wet nature of garden waste material, the mulcher requires a lower exit chute. The mulcher accessory kit includes an upper discharge chute which allows you to direct your wood chips into a wheelbarrow. The accessory also includes a blanking plate โ this means that the chips no longer pass through the grated drum design and in turn produces wood chips that are larger than 10mm. These wood chips are perfect for decorative purposes.
When youโre finished chipping into a barrow and want to swap back to mulching, shredding or producing smaller chips you can simply swap the chutes back over. Itโs the best of both worlds. Note that when the chipping discharge chute is attached โ you can only chip wood branches or leafy branches (ratio wood approximately 80/20). If you wish to mulch green material or waste,ย simply swap back to the lower mulching chute.
Compatible with FM6DD-MUL & FM4DDE-MUL compact mulchers

A sturdy, well made piece of kit that fitted the mulcher easily turning it in to a chipper. I tried it in both chipper and mulcher modes and as other reviews clearly advise, the chute struggles with mulching wetter and leafy material and chokes up but for chipping woody material, it was great and I could direct the output exactly where I wanted it.
It really isnโt difficult to fit or to swap the chute with the mulcher output chute. It takes about 10 minutes to swap over with two spanners needed and youdonโt need an engineering degree to work out how it fits. Some reviewers have mentioned difficulty fitting and even having to make adjustments to the plates but mine fitted really easily.
All in all, a great machine and accessories suitable for both domestic and mid professional use. Highly recommended.
Mulcher kit fitted and easy to swap over. FM6DD-MUL handled wood better without kit than with – but 2.5 days in 30 deg heat perhaps dried it too fast!
No instructions , but would be difficult to get wrong
