This handle serves an essential function and arguably should be provided as standard since the forestmaster is otherwise so awkward to move around. However, the design of the handle is flawed in so far as the cross bar is loose, and consequently it vibrates and rattles dreadfully when engine is switched on
Is surely practical but we should have a nut or something to stop the handle from moving and vibrating while in use.
Handle itself is ok, although it needs a locator screw in the middle to stop the bar sliding left and right.
Sadly no installation instructions, and no pictures on the website confirming how it should be attached. I had to go onto amazon and I found one for sale with pictures of where it should be attached. Very fiddly to install, trying to hold the handle in place, and the rubber finger guards and the bolts and a screw driver all at the same time was challenging. Assistance is required! You definitely need one to move the machine around, super easy to move with the handle on. I guess you would just use the hopper to move it otherwise. Unsure why the handle isn’t just included in the kit.
It is easy to fit and does the job, but the cross bar needs securing to stop it sliding from side to side and rattling when the shredder is running. A blob of two part epoxy does the trick.
Haven’t attached it to the chipper yet but a bolt through the handle to hold it fixed would be a good idea
