FM10D-TC Electric Log Splitter – 5 Ton Domestic Use Wood Splitter
The FM10D-TC is a 5-ton electric log splitter capable of splitting logs up to 450mm in length and is suitable for domestic use. Due to the trademarked DuocutTM Blade, it can split logs from both ends and effectively split logs equivalent to a 10-ton machine. It ensures that by splitting from both ends if a knot is encountered at one end it will still split from the other.

The 5 Ton Electric Log Splitter has a simultaneous button and lever operation so that it cannot be operated one-handed, making it compliant with the latest safety regulations.
The FM10D-TC also comes fitted with the Ram Stop that can be used to limit the amount of return travel by the blade. If you are splitting a lot of short logs then you can set the return distance to slightly greater than your log length and this will save considerable time. It comes filled with hydraulic oil so it is ready to use out of the box.
This FM10D-TC model can produce up to 5 tons in total force. It can also manage around 100 logs per hour.
The latest model of the FM10D-TC log splitter is fitted with a workbench and guard that are compliant with safety regulations. Unlike other manufacturers safety cages, our guard has no holes in the side panels to ensure logs can’t get caught and damage the cage. Our guard will also accommodate logs up to 400mm* diameter, whereas other manufacturers can only accommodate 250mm diameter.
This model is not supplied with a stand.

Could do with wider front foot to stop it tilting when you haven’t purchased the frame!! It ‘s still a hell of a tool.
This is an awesome beast! It goes through logs like a knife through butter. I’m very impressed. It is extremely well designed and easy to use. Both hands necessary to operate controls. I’m using this on a 65cm. high bench, that seems to be ideal for my hieght. The importance of slackening the air bleed screw before use might benifit from some sort of additional highlighting on the machine itself since not everyone (it seems) reads instructions and it could certainly be forgotten if the machine is used without instructions after transport. (For example if it was ever to be lent to another user.) I have decided not to assemble or use the guard. Apparantly it is necessary as a workplace safety issue and in my domestic environment where I have limited space for storage, when not in use; it really would be an additional complication. Be sure to wear safety glasses and face protection instead though, since some logs can break appart quite explosively! I chose this 450mm model because large logs are cheaper to buy than pre-cut smaller logs AND I find the longer logs easier to wheelbarrow (handle) and will stack vertically and store more tidily in a confined floor area. This is a useful power tool and I am very pleased with this purchase.
Why did I leave it till this year to purchase one. The years swinging an axe around are no more. It’s making light work of what would have take days. My dad is now even back splitting wood.
